Creatives for Virginia is listening to creatives across the Commonwealth to better understand what's working, what's missing, and what creatives need to build sustainable careers, businesses, and creative practices in Virginia.

Why We're Listening

Virginia's creative community helps shape our culture, strengthen our communities, create jobs, build businesses, and tell the stories of the Commonwealth.

To advocate effectively for Virginia's creatives, we need to understand their experiences directly.

The Commonwealth Creative Listening Project is a statewide research and engagement initiative from Creatives for Virginia designed to better understand the opportunities, challenges, resources, and investments that matter most to Virginia's creative community.

Who Should Participate?

This survey is open to adults age 18 or older who live in Virginia or conduct creative work in Virginia. Participants must be 18 years of age or older — this survey is not intended for minors.

Survey responses are collected without names or email addresses and will be analyzed and reported in aggregate.

This Is Only the Beginning

The statewide survey is the first phase of the Commonwealth Creative Listening Project. Throughout the project, Creatives for Virginia will continue listening through Creative Conversations, one-on-one interviews, and conversations with organizations and leaders working across Virginia's creative economy.
